The 1988 Rossi di Montalcino offers a fragrant, broad nose of damp earth, rich, plummy, black cherry fruit, leather, and licorice. In the mouth, there is sweet, expansive fruit, full body, plenty of glycerin, soft tannins, and an impressively long finish. Drinking beautifully now, it should continue to provide exciting tasting for at least 5-7 more years. This tiny estate makes some of the finest red wines in Tuscany. Unfortunately, the micro-quantities produced make the wine nearly impossible to locate. Importer: A Marc di Grazia Selection, Consensus Selections, Philadelphia, PA.
