The 2011 Barolo Castellero is slightly more rustic and rough around the edges compared to the 2012 vintage. In other words, this wine has a more pronounced wild side. You do get lots of ripe fruit here with dark layers of dried raspberry, cassis, plum and spice. Lighter, more ethereal notes of ash, licorice and anise seed appear at the back. The wine is aged in botte grande for three years.
