The superb 2007 Tavel Roc-Epine is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and a few other varietals. It possesses intense watermelon and strawberry notes intermixed with hints of pepper and spice. Dry, full-bodied, and slightly austere with superb purity as well as stunning intensity, this beauty should be enjoyed over the next 6-9 months.
This is an outstanding source for excellent Cotes du Rhones, Liracs, and limited production Chateauneuf du Papes. They are made in a modern style, yet retain Provencal typicity. Always darkly colored with loads of fruit, they are meant to be consumed during their first 8-10 years of life.
