The 1989 Barolo Brunate exhibits greater richness, a more expansive, fuller-bodied palate, and a longer finish than the 1989 Barolo La Serra. It may also be slightly riper. This is a rich yet closed, backward style of Barolo that needs 5-6 years of aging. Drink it between 1999-2015.
The Marcarini estate in La Morra is one of Barolo's most respected producers. Their 1989s and 1990s are tightly-knit, closed but promising wines that require 4-5 years of cellaring.
