The 1978 Corton-Charlemagne has a gorgeous bouquet with scents of white truffle, incense, popcorn, minerals, dried honey and a touch of quince. It has great intensity and exuberance undiminished after so many years. The palate is medium-bodied with a lime, pithy pear and stem ginger. It is long and powerful with crisp tangerine notes on the waxy-textured finish. Excellent. Tasted December 2012.
