This estate in the northern part of the Medoc is owned by Jean Guyon, better known as the proprietor of Rollan de By and Haut-Condissas, two of the better non-classified growths of the Medoc. This blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot is relatively straightforward, possessing good cedar notes intermixed with red and black currants, damp earth and tobacco leaf. It is medium-bodied, soft and best drunk over the next 5-6 years.

Very lively, with a bouncy, pebbly undertow to the raspberry, plum and cassis core of fruit. Sweet spice notes, with hints of savory herb and rosemary, fill out the finish. Distinctive. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. Best from 2012 through 2018. 4,165 cases made. -JM
