The 2008 Barbera d'Alba Trevigne is a pretty, mid-weight style for this wine, with layers of perfumed dark fruit. There is an attractive spiciness to the Trevigne but the oak is a little out of balance, most likely owing to the modest structure of the 2008 vintage as a whole. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013. This is a strong set of wines from Domenico Clerico, one of the few growers in Piedmont who can be counted on to deliver the goods year after year throughout his entire range, from top to bottom.
