The 2017 Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru is very promising, unfolding in the glass with aromas of lemon oil, grapefruit, mandarin, crisp green apples and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, elegantly textural and beautifully pure, with bright acids, a tight-knit core and a long, detailed finish. The Batard saw no new oak this year, and it's all the more integrated and classy for it.
