The 2009 Venta Mazzaron was aged for 8 months in French oak. It displays an earthy minerality, cedar, spice box, lavender, and blackberry. Sweetly-fruited, layered, and mouth-filling, this is a savory, lengthy effort for drinking over the next 6 years. It offers outstanding value. Tierra del Vino de Zamora should have been included in the Toro DO but was overlooked when the boundaries were drawn. It is located approximately 40 kilometers south of Toro.
