The 2007 Montefalco Sagrantino Colleallodole presents a darker tonality of fruit than the regular bottling, with a little more length but also a commensurate increase in tannic heft. The Colleallodole is an undeniably attractive wine, but it isn't a meaningfully better or better balanced wine than the straight Sagrantino. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023.
Antano is a great source for traditionally made, artisan wines from Montefalco. Unfortunately I wasn't able to taste the Passito this year.
