The 2000 Chardonnay reveals high acidity (typical for the vintage) as well as faint aromas of lemon butter, a steely minerality, apple skins, and white currants. The wine is tight, although there is good size and length. As indicated in the past, some Chalone Chardonnays can age gracefully for a decade or more (a bottle of 1980 drunk in 2001 was pure nectar, maybe the single greatest California Chardonnay I have ever had).Tel.
