Similarly-styled although more evolved than the 2001, the 2000 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee Nadal exhibits additional notes of smoke, creme de cassis, licorice as well as hints of espresso and chocolate. It possesses great fruit, full body, and a tremendously long, concentrated finish. At $17 a bottle, it is hard to believe there are many better wines in the world than this. My tasting notes on my visit with proprietor Sebastien Vincenti ended with the comment, "These wines are simply too good for their prices. Does anyone really believe such amazing quality exists at this price range?"Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
