Importer Eric Solomon calls this Penedes’ first garage wine, and in a portfolio that is top-heavy with great values, it stands out as being overpriced for what it offers. A blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Carignan, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, abundant tannin, medium body, and a rugged, virile, muscular personality. The high tannin suggests another 2-3 years in the bottle will be beneficial. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2014. While well-made, it is absurdly priced.Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. (704) 358-1565
