The crimson-colored 2006 VT Vendimia Seleccionada sports a nose of balsam wood, Asian spices, mineral, plum, and blackberry. Structured on the palate with some incipient complexity, it should blossom for another 2-3 years and drink well through 2018. Valtravieso’s owners aspire to produce great wine in Ribera del Duero and seem willing to go to any expense to do so. The project began in 2003 and just now seems to be getting into the swing of things.
