Similarly, the 2007 Old Vines Gran Reserva, which sees at least 24 months in used American oak (plus French and Hungarian) is a little diffuse on the nose, although there are pleasant balsamic-tinged aromas emerging with aeration. The palate is a little hard on the entry and it never really recovers, leading to a rather astringent finish. Stick with the excellent Crianza.
