Made from the same vineyard as Babcock’s "Loin" Cabernet, only the addition of Merlot makes the wine richer, fatter and more complex. More feminine, too, despite firm tannins. It’s sweet in cherries, blackberries, vanilla, mocha and cinnamon spice. Very fine, one of the best Santa Ynez Valley Bordeaux blends, and a wine to drink over the next several years. ——S.H.(10/1/2011)—— 92
