The Le Gode 2012 Brunello di Montalcino opens to bright, luminous and direct aromas of cherry confit, dried blackberry, tobacco and balsam herb. This is a beautiful wine from a vintage that delivered uneven results across the appellation. It shows strength and power with tight texture, richness and firm structure derived from both the oak and the quality of the fruit. Give it a year or two to unwind in the bottle. The results are very pleasing indeed.
