Superb, the 2012 Cotes du Rhone Blanc Les Claux is 50% Grenache Blanc, 30% Clairette and 20% Roussanne that was brought up all in stainless steel. Beautifully fresh and pure, with citrus, white peach and toasted almond, this medium-bodied, fresh, yet layered effort way over-delivers. Drink it over the coming couple of years. Drink now-2016. Covering 45 acres (37 in red and the rest planted to white varieties) spread throughout Chateauneuf du Pape, this top-notch estate has been run by Raymond Usseglio’s son, Stephane, since 2004, with consulting help from Xavier Vignon.
