The Boroli 2016 Barolo Villero draws its fruit from Castiglione Falletto. The wine shows the precision and sharpness that I associate with this celebrated Barolo subzone, but it also delivers ample spice and softness obtained with barrel aging. That oak signature is strong. The Villero shows plush, round oak tannins with succulent fruit flavors that add weight and volume to the finish. Blackberry, summer cherry and prune cede to cinnamon, campfire ash and black licorice.

A mix of sweet hay, caramel and caraway aromas lead off, compounded by flavors of plum, cherry and vanilla. This is fresh, with dense tannins and a lingering finish. Best from 2024 through 2042. 400 cases made, 100 cases imported.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barolo Select to Add
