The 2009 Chardonnay Altkirch is a pretty wine. Readers will find more Alto Adige character here than true varietal aromas and flavors, but frankly its hard to find too much fault in that considering this wine’s exceedingly fair price. A lush, textured finish rounds things out nicely. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2013. Alto Adige is a region full of high-quality cooperatives, but few are as consistent as Colterenzio-Schreckbichl.
