The 2004 Malpaso is composed of 75% Syrah and 25% Garnacha aged for 6 months in 500 liter barrels. Purple-colored, the nose is a full-throttle expression of smoke, meat, leather, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has gobs of spicy black fruit flavors, a supple feel on the palate, and excellent length. Although the wine can be enjoyed now, 2-3 years of further cellaring will reward the patient.
