The vanilla and mineral-scented 1998 Corton-Charlemagne is a rich, velvety-textured wine. Medium-bodied, thick, and dense, it is crammed with notes of pears, apples, and assorted spices. Wonderfully harmonious, and giving the impression of having been crafted from well-ripened fruit, it is sweet as well as opulent. Drink it between 2002 and 2009.
