Varietal notes and a deep expression of pure Paso Robles fruit fuse together in the 2009 Syrah Toasted Slope. Black cherries, plums, game and exotic spices flow through to the seamless, palate-staining finish. Floral notes are woven throughout, providing a nice balance to the wine’s more overt leanings. The addition of 10% Grenache works beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. This is a gorgeous set of wines from Alta Colina and proprietor Bob Tillman.
