This 20-acre estate, run with considerable precision by Gerard Boudot, is among the top dozen or so producers of white Burgundy. 1994 is a very good vintage for white Burgundy, as evidenced by the following wines. The 1994 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres (100% purchased grapes) is more structured than the Les Referts, with a red cherry/curranty fruit character that enhances the wine's buttery, honeysuckle-scented and flavored personality. Deep, richly fruity, and expansive, it possesses considerable quantities of glycerin, giving it a fleshy, chewy mouthfeel. This is a wine to drink early on - within the next 5-7 years.
