The 2009 GSM is a huge wine bursting at the seams with dark fruit. Floral notes add delineation, nuance and transparency, but the wine never loses its intensity. Grilled savory herbs, anise, tobacco and mint are layered into the huge, explosive finish. In 2009, the blend is 53% Syrah, 24% Mourvedre and 23% Grenache. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. This is a gorgeous set of wines from Alta Colina and proprietor Bob Tillman.
