The 2007 Pielago is 60% Garnacha and 40% Syrah aged in 300 and 500-liter French oak. Aromas of wood smoke, violets, mineral, black cherry, and black raspberry jump from the glass. Elegant and flavorful on the palate with attractive succulent fruit, this smooth-textured wine could use a bit more depth and concentration. Give it another 2-3 years in the cellar and drink it from 2011 to 2022.
