The 2008 Barbaresco wafts from the glass with ethereal dried cherries, crushed flowers and spices, all of which come together on a medium bodied frame. This is a somewhat delicate, fragile Barbaresco that is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Another year or so of bottle age should help the tannins soften. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
Castello di Neive makes a wide range of wines, but the Barbareschi are often the crown jewels, as they are again this year.
