A brilliant effort, the 2004 Grenache The Derelict Vineyard represents a Grenache on steroids. Its deep ruby/purple-tinged color is accompanied by a sweet kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with licorice, pepper, and a touch of lavender. Full-bodied with superb concentration, a beautiful, multilayered texture, sweet tannin, low acidity, and a long, supple finish, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 7-8 years.
