The Panizzi 2019 Vernaccia di San Gimignano is 92% Vernaccia and 8% Manzoni Bianco drawn from yellowish tufa sand soils. Some 50,000 bottles were produced. This is a terrific wine, and the addition of the outside grape makes lasting changes, especially in terms of the brightness and lifted freshness of the bouquet. You get honeydew melon, kiwi and minty apple, with light mineral shadings on the close. This is another terrific value from Tuscany's so-called Medieval Manhattan, San Gimignano.
