The 2006 Morellino di Scansano Suberli is made in a modern style, with plenty of toasted oak framing a core of dark cherry fruit. There is good length and plumpness here, but perhaps a bit too much oak given the wine's relatively modest structure. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. Mocali is probably best known to readers for their wines from Montalcino, but in recent years they, like other producers in the region, have expanded into some of the lesser known appellations in Tuscany.
