The Vosne-Romanee was a bit more tannic and less oaky than that of Bernard's mother, Madame Jean Gros, but was still richly fruity, medium bodied, and ideal for drinking until 1993-1994. It would appear that the entire Gros family has done something special in the 1987 vintage. The 1987s of this cellar are essentially equal in quality to the more highly applauded 1988s.
