The 100% Merlot 1999 L’Apparita, rather surprisingly, is not one of the better vintages for the estate, despite the clear quality of the Sangiovese in 1999. The aromas are ripe, but not particularly complex, the flavors supple but without the explosive power of vintages such as 1992 and 1998. Drink: 2005-2012.
