The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Barberini blanc reveals more oak, but it is better integrated than in previous vintages. Reminiscent of a premier cru white Burgundy, it exhibits notes of poached pears, candied citrus, minerals, and subtle wood. Drink this medium to full-bodied, attractive white over the next 1-2 years. This estate has been coming on like gang busters over recent vintages.
