This dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 reveals copious quantities of spicy oak along with good sweetness, and tight flavors that require coaxing. Nevertheless, there is plenty of intensity, good purity, and copious black cherry and currant fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010.
