Broad aromas of cherry fruit, blackberry preserves and dark chocolate give the 2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano a heavy feel and a large frame. Rather than performing in a direct and vertical manner, this wine is thick, long and horizontal in approach. You get the same impression in the mouth, where the tannins add strength and power with a good showing of depth and complexity.

Graphite, raspberry and earth aromas and flavors highlight this sinewy red. The bright fruit gives way to gripping, dusty tannins, but this is long and should develop well.
