The 2001 Gattinara Tre Vigne reveals vibrant, focused layers of red cherries, spices and menthol on a medium-bodied, sinewy frame with excellent length and an understated personality. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2015. Travaglini is the largest land-owner in the Gattinara appellation in northern Piedmont. Stylistically the wines bridge traditional and more modern styles, with the Riserva being the most classic wine and the Tre Vigne the most contemporary.
