The Pago de Santa Cruz is top-flight, but the price is severe. The dense ruby/purple-colored, medium-bodied 1998 Pago de Santa Cruz possesses plenty of spicy oak along with notes of black cherries, cassis, and licorice. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered. It will drink well for a decade. Importer: De Maison Selections, Chapel Hill, NC; tel. (919) 933-4245
