Selbach-Oster produced five Spatlese offerings in 1992. All are at least very good, with several outstanding. The classy, character-filled 1992 Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spatlese is the lightest-bodied, and tastes less extracted. It reveals admirable mineral ripeness, as well as a slightly diffuse component. Although ripe, off-dry, and impressive, it is not as complete or complex as the 1992 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Spatlese or the 1992 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese. This is a top-class offering. A Terry Theise Estate Selection, imported by Milton S. Kronheim Co., Washington, DC.
