The 2011 Pinot Noir Aliette comes from vines planted in 1992 (Pommard clones) picked at 23 Brix and aged for 14 months in 50% new French oak. It has a light, slightly muffled nose with red cherries, cranberry leaf and undergrowth scents that do not quite get out of second gear. The palate is medium-bodied, soft in the mouth with light tannin, clean and earthy red berry fruit, with a straightforward but nicely focused finish. Fine.
