A fleshy, forward wine, Anne Gros's 2006 Richebourg Grand Cru displays a generous bouquet of spicy plums, rich soil tones and toasty new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate, underpinned by tangy acids, that starts out generous and enveloping but which turns firmer and chewier in the glass. Again, if there's a criticism, it's that after a dozen years, when a Richebourg might be expected to be hitting its stride, this 2006 is less lavish and complex than it was a handful of years ago.
