The 2005 Barbera d’Alba Pian Romualdo, from one of Piedmont’s top sites, is a winner. This gorgeous Barbera flows from the glass with perfumed black cherries, spices and sweet toasted oak, all of which come together with notable transparency and fine overall harmony. Lingering notes of minerality frame the long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.
I was very impressed with the wines I tasted from Prunotto this year.
