The 1998 Shiraz is spectacular. This is a fabulous value. $26.00 does not buy much in the 90-point range these days, and this wine delivers explosive levels of glycerin, and concentrated blackberry and cherry fruit in a sweet, beautifully seamless, ostentatious style of Shiraz, with nicely integrated wood and a huge blockbuster finish. This is teeth-staining, mouth-coating Shiraz, the likes of which can be made nowhere else in the world but from old vines in Barossa. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
