The 2005 Barolo is a very pretty, old-style wine with expressive notes of red cherries, flowers and spices. This mid-weight Barolo reveals plenty of persistence and firm, dusty tannins that round out the finish. There is something deeply satisfying about this unfussy Barolo that is hard to define with words, but readers will find much to admire here. This is a terrific choice for the dinner table. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020. Brezza is an excellent source for fine, traditionally made Barolos. For some reason I missed this entry-level bottling in my tastings of the estate’s Barolos last year.Importer: An Acid Inc. Selection for Angels' Share Wines, Brooklyn, NY; tel. (917) 687 4848
