The 1991 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux has a funky, rather spirituous bouquet with juniper berries and eau de vie, quite medicinal in style. The palate seems to translate the winemaking more than the vineyard with strong mulberry and leather notes infused with a scent of horse stables overdue cleaning out! Examining the wine over two hours, it declined in the glass, and given that this came from an ex-cellar magnum, I suggest drinking in the near future. It is past its best.
