The 2003 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux is respectable for the vintage, with black and red pastilles on the nose without the delineation of the 2001 or 2002, though there is an attractive lavender scent with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, rendering this a “mellow” Clos des Epeneaux with a velvety smooth texture that is pleasant, if lacking some complexity. Drink now-2018.
