The 2005 Barolo is a beautiful wine that comes together in the glass in a lovely expression of Nebbiolo. This medium-bodied wine shows off terrific depth in a round, harmonious style. The estate’s 2005 Barolo should drink nicely relatively early, as the tannins are surprisingly soft and measured. Readers looking for a delicious Barolo that won’t break the bank will find much to admire here. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025.
I continue to be very impressed with the wines that are emerging from this historic winery. The Barolos in particular show far more harmony and elegance than was once the case.
