The 2006 EDOM, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), Merlot (33%), Petit Verdot (7%) and Cabernet Franc (4%) gets some plaudits for structure; it is certainly more intense than the Merlot reviewed this issue and has an extra layer of depth, too. If anything, in fact, there is some astringency on the finish. The wine also has significant licorice nuances mingling with olives. There is a lot to admire here, but I have to admit that after some aeration I was reacting more to its flaws than its virtues. Drink now-2016.
