If you are looking for mineral scents, a flinty, cold steel-like bouquet, and structure, check out Carillon's 1992 Puligny-Montrachet-Les Perrieres. Rich, full-bodied, and deep, with layers of flavor, as well as precision and finesse, this superb white burgundy could easily pass for a grand cru. It should drink well for the next 7-9 years.
In 1992, Jacques and Francois Carillon have fashioned the finest white wines I have tasted from this domaine. While there has been an upward progression in quality since the mid-eighties, the 1992s exceed anything the Carillons have produced in over twenty years.
