I would put my enthusiasm for this wine somewhere in the middle of the scale: not too high and not too low. The 2014 Maremma Toscana Sinarra (100% Sangiovese) reveals odd ripening. On the one hand, you get jammy tones of strawberry jelly or cherry confit. On the other, you get the thin and streamlined mouthfeel that characterizes this cool and humid vintage. This vintage is the weaker link in what is otherwise a very strong showing of new releases from Fattoria di Magliano.
