The 2008 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Cairanne Clos de la Brussiere Massif d’Uchaux, a blend of two-thirds Grenache and the rest mostly Mourvedre with some Carignan included, is very good. Plenty of licorice, garrigue, black cherry, and loamy soil notes emerge from this elegant, medium-bodied, richly fruity wine. It will not be as long-lived as the 2007, and is best consumed over the next 2-3 years. Domaine Boisson, which produced some outstanding bargains in 2007, has done exceptionally well in 2008, a much more difficult vintage. Clearly on top of its games, Boisson is one of the most reliable estates in the Cotes du Rhone-Villages.Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel. (908) 654-6172
